Fort Erie man heard ‘the fun music’ as he won $2M in lottery

A Fort Erie man is $2 million richer after winning an ONTARIO 49 top prize in the March 1, 2023 draw.

Deyvi Urrutia Vanegas, 33, said it’s his first big win after playing the lottery weekly.

“I checked my ticket on the OLG App and heard the fun music. I immediately thought of my family,” Vanegas told OLG. “I went home to tell my partner and she was so excited!”

In addition to investing his winnings, Vanegas plans to set up an education fund for his children

“It feels so special,” he told OLG.

The winning ticket was purchased at Esso on North Service Road in Fort Erie.
