Berlin (AP) — Germany's Lufthansa said on Monday that it plans to return some of its Airbus A380 super jumbo jets to service after stagnation of aircraft during the height of the coronavirus pandemic.

Lufthansa said he is currently assessing the number of A380s to be reactivated and where they fly. It is scheduled to be reused from the summer of 2023, and it has been decided "in response to the rapid increase in customer demand and the delay in delivery of ordering machines."

In September 2020, the airline announced that it would discontinue the A380 as demand for air travel remained stubbornly low.

The company sold six of its 14 A380s parked in Spain and France for "deep storage" on Monday, with the remaining eight in the "for the time being" fleet. He said it would remain part of.

Lufthansa said he expects "a much more reliable air transportation system around the world" next summer.
