Hamilton Police are investigating the shooting that left a 53-year-old Hamilton man dead Friday.
Police said shortly before 4 p.m. Friday, they were called to the area of Sanford Avenue North and Acorn St. for a shooting that had just occurred. The victim was found deceased inside a residence.

The Homicide Unit has been investigating and confirmed Saturday that the deceased male has been identified as Robert Barberstock. Police believe this was a targeted attack and are currently looking for three to four male suspects who were seen fleeing from the scene.
Police have confirmed that Barberstock was killed from a gunshot wound.

Hamilton only had five homicides in all of 2022, a large drop from prior years. This is the first homicide of 2023 in Hamilton.
