Hawkesbury OPP in a deadly chain with only one left Investigating reaction collision, one died, another in critical condition.
Officers responded to the clash around 5:15 pm on Tuesday. He was hit by four vehicles on Routes 17 and 9 in the township of Alfred-Plantagenet. Initial investigations show that an eastbound vehicle hit another vehicle that was stopped for construction on the road, causing a chain reaction with two of his other vehicles, police said.
A 28-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene and a 43-year-old woman was airlifted from the scene by her ORNGE emergency helicopter. She is said to be in critical condition.
Her name is withheld as notification of her next of kin is pending.
A 33-year-old woman and her 9-year-old child also suffered minor injuries.
