Istanbul (AP) — Authorities worked to evacuate stranded locals, causing heavy rains in northwestern Turkey that flooded rivers and collapsed bridges on Monday.

Interior Minister Suleiman Soil said there were no reports of death or missing persons.

The Turkish Coast Guard shared a video of helicopter rescue. A woman was lifted from the roof of her building in a village in Kastamonu province, and water flowed under them.

Turkey's Emergency Management Authority AFAD said more than 2,550 people were stationed in the six rain-affected states and dozens were evacuated. A meteorological "red warning" was declared.

Floods struck three states in northwestern Turkey last August, killing 82 people.
