The CW’s The Flash has suspended production in Vancouver after a team member tested positive for COVID-19.

Deadline first reported the development on Sunday, Nov. 29.

According to Deadline’s sources, the employee was asymptomatic but was detected through its regularly scheduled testing protocol for COVID-19. The testing protocol has been in place for many local film productions since filming resumed following the industry-wide stoppage earlier this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The crew member and any potential contacts are now self-isolating and contact tracing is underway.

Sources have told Deadline that the studio is considering production schedule changes to allow for filming to resume without the affected individual and close contacts, which suggests the infected individual may be an ‘above-the-line’ member of production.

The Flash is currently filming its seventh season, set to premier in February 2021. The show stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen, who has super-speed powers. The CW production is filmed in and around Vancouver.
