Human remains in burnt car near Summerland linked to Abbotsford fatal crash

According to police, two bodies were found in a burning car in South Okanagan and died of foul play.

On Tuesday afternoon, the RCMP's Southeast District Serious Crimes Investigation Unit (SED MCU) released an update to its investigation.

The bodies were found Saturday morning, August 6, after theSummerland Fire Departmentextinguished a vehicle fire on Garnett Valley Road.

A vehicle died as a result of foul play and a stolen vehicle has been determined to be linked to this murder," SED MCU said.

On August 7, Abbotsford police found a stolen vehicle that had been flagged as being linked to the vehicle burned in Summerland, according to police.

"So Abbotsford (Police Department) tried to stop the vehicle. and crashed into Maclure Road, fatally injuring the male driver and female passenger.
