Ontario drug stores say they are facing shortages of common children's pain relievers, including brands like Tylenol and Advil, amid sporadic supply disruptions across the country. says the pharmacist.

According to the Ontario Pharmacists Association, the state has a "substantial" shortage of over-the-counter pain relievers for children. It is an opinion shared by many parents. containing acetaminophen.
Med+Pharmacy owner and pharmacist Manoj Gajera takes Tylenol off the shelves and sells him one bottle at a time to stop mass panic buying.
"I would like to ask everyone not to panic. There are solutions and options available," says Gajera. "If you have enough Tylenol, try helping other families. If you really need it, share it with a few people."

Gajera says there are alternatives available. Some pharmacies can provide liquid over-the-counter medications by prescription, or small doses of adult medications for children in emergencies. Parents should contact their doctor or pharmacist to see if they can tell you how," says Gajera.
Manufacturers attribute the shortage to unseasonably high demand, creating headaches for parents.

"You'll probably need to call two weeks in advance to make an appointment. How many hours have you been sitting there sick without it?" says Jackson. "Your child will probably recover from the disease, or your body will build up immunity and fight off the disease before it can get the medicine it needs."
