FRIENDS IN HIGH PLACES

Let’s get this straight. The prime minister appoints a family friend to recommend whether or not there should be a public inquiry and says that he will follow all of his friend’s recommendations. His friend then recommends no need for a public inquiry, but he will preside over public hearings. Fantastic! Did he also recommend his compensation and perks? It doesn’t get much better.

IGNORANCE AND INEPTITUDE

Thanks for Lorrie Goldstein’s May 25 column “Johnston’s report proves we need a public inquiry.” Johnston points out, as seen in Goldstein’s column, that there are numerous errors and failings in the business of communicating vital information to people who need to see it. Well, if a ship sinks, it’s the captain’s fault, even if it isn’t. Ignorance of ineptitude on your watch does not absolve you of responsibility of it. Given the seriousness of foreign interference in our elections (and at the risk of sounding naive), I believe the opposition could call for the resignation of the government on the basis of Johnston’s report, public inquiry or not.

(As long as Jagmeet Singh continues to prop up Trudeau, the government remains in tact)

TEFLON TRUDEAU

So now the Liberals and particularly the prime minister are concerned about national security. So much for the impartiality of David Johnston, who it turns out is not so impartial after all. Every security official is responsible, not any Liberals and certainly not the Teflon PM, who skates on another scandal!

ELECTION TIME

Re “Trudeau could have written Johnston’s report” (Editorial, May 24): Are you kidding? He did! Johnston should hang his head in shame. ‘There are none so blind as those who will not see,’ J. Heywood AD: 1546. We are inundated with drivel by the leftie influencers who know their base oh so well. We, like the Americans, are so in need of a responsive and responsible new administration. The elections can’t come soon enough.

(The Trudeau Liberals have done so much damage to our country if Pierre Poilievre does become PM, he has will spend a lot of time undoing this damage)
