Liz Cambage scored 21 points and 11 rebounds, and Nneka Ogwicke scored 21 points as the Los Angeles Sparks defeated the Dallas Wings 97-89 on Friday in Arlington, Texas.

Sparks (8-11) continued to surge in the middle of the third quarter, with a difference of 9 points in the second half of the second quarter and three points in the halftime. Los Angeles has pushed its advantage up to 9 points, fourth.

Sparks have won their 500th victory in franchise history and are the first team to reach that milestone in WNBA history. Phoenix Mercury is the second farthest on the franchise's winning list at 434.

Cambage recorded her second consecutive double-double and third of the season. Katie Lou Samuelson added 14 points to Los Angeles, Lexi Brown scored 13 points, and Christie River recorded the season's highest 11 points.

Arike Ogunboire led the Wings with 23 points. Marina Maybury scored 17 points, Thira McCowan added 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Allisha Gray added 10 points to Dallas (9-12).

Wings then forged a 10-4 run to pull in McCawwan's reverse layup. Dallas added the following four points to gain the advantage of 21-17 before settling on the edge of 27-24 after the first 10 minutes of play.

Sparks retired from the game 29-29 with a pair of free throws by Samuelson. Dallas regained the lead and went up to 38-31 in a gray layup.

Wings was in front of 45-37 when Sato Savary completed a three-point play at 2:11 before half-time, but Los Angeles had a tremendous momentum during this period. After finishing, I just dragged 49-46 during the break.

McCowan hit all five shots from the field, giving all scorers a 12-point pace in the first half. Brown led Sparks by 10 points by half-time with a 4-4 shot from the floor.

Los Angeles led 8-0 in the middle of the third quarter, rising 8 points after Samuelson's three-pointer at 1:35 during this period. Sparks settled on the advantage of 71-66 towards the last 10 minutes.
