Vancouver police are calling on the baby's parents or guardians to call the police.
Constant VPD spokesman Tania Visintin says he received a report of a man throwing a glass bottle at his baby at the intersection of Davie and Bidwell around 4:30 pm on Monday.
The caller showed that the bottle did not hit the baby, but she said the contents were scattered to both the baby and the adult who was with him.
"This attack did not seem to be completely provoked and must have been horrifying to everyone involved," Visintin said in a statement Thursday.
"A suspect was arrested nearby based on an explanation submitted by witnesses to police."
A 31-year-old Vancouver man was arrested and investigations are underway. is.
"The family left before the police arrived, so they were never identified," Visintin said. "We are asking the police to call us to proceed with the investigation."
