Staff Sgt. Sean Rocka said police received multiple calls from a man in black and holding a long gun in the park.

"A caller The suspect is near the playground, "according to Rocka's statement. "This caused a panic because there were so many people in the park, including children, to celebrateCanada Day."
He said patrol police began evacuating the park while searching for the suspect.
"The 23-year-old was sitting with him on a park bench with something that looked like a rifle," Rocka said in an email. "The suspect was arrested for possessing a weapon for dangerous purposes."

No one was injured in this case, and the suspect will be released from detention and will return to court on September 27.
