Halifax Regional Police say a man who was attacked at a gas station on Young Street on June 30 has died of his injuries.

Police say they are now looking for the assailant in the attack at an Esso station about 10:20 p.m. while the victim was sitting in his car.

Police say the suspect was armed with an “edged weapon” and fled in a vehicle that was later found abandoned nearby.

The victim, identified as 47-year-old Terrance Thomas Dixon of Halifax, died early Saturday morning in hospital and an autopsy by the medical examiner’s office concluded his death was a homicide.

Police say the suspect is described as a white male, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, long jean shorts, blue baseball cap, black sneakers and black gloves.

The investigation is ongoing.
