Players who haven’t punched their ticket to the Masters are down to their last chance. With qualifying via the Top-50 in world rankings now closed after the WGC Dell Match Play, anyone on the outside looking in needs a win at the Valero Texas Open to get to Augusta National.

Canadians heading to TPC San Antonio in need of a win are Nick Taylor, Taylor Pendrith, and Michael Gligic. Adam Hadwin did not add his name to the Texas Open field after failing to qualify at the match play.

There a record tying four Canadians already heading to the Masters this year: 2003 champ Mike Weir, Canada’s top-ranked player Corey Conners, and recent PGA Tour winners Mackenzie Hughes and Adam Svensson.

Former world No. 1 Jason Day cracked the top-50 with a quarterfinal appearance and will be heading back to Augusta National.

“I am excited to be back, the game is looking nice,” Day said. “I feel happy with where I’m at. I’ve got a week off coming up now, and then get in probably Friday and prepare.”
The resurgent Rickie Fowler didn’t make it out of group play at match play, and heads to Texas needing a win.

“My short-term goal is to obviously get myself back in Augusta,” Fowler said. “If that doesn’t happen, we’re going to continue to move forward.”
