KYIV — The mayor of Ukraine, Severodonetsk, is a strategic front-line city after the Ukrainian army has resisted the advance of Russian troops for weeks. "Almost left."

Mayor Oleksandr Stryuk did not confirm whether a complete withdrawal was underway. On Friday, local officials said Ukraine was ready to pull its troops back there.

"Unfortunately, they have almost left the city," Stryuk said on national television.
