Conservative pundit and podcaster Megyn Kelly ripped CNN on Wednesday, saying the network is in big trouble following the sudden departure of CEO Chris Licht.

Licht, appointed to the role following Jeff Zucker’s shocking departure last year, was fired after a profile in The Atlantic and various internal mishaps, including anchor Don Lemon’s firing and an ill-advised town hall with former U.S. president Donald Trump.

“Chris Licht tried to undo that bias, but with the same anchors — and the same audience — who were already hooked on the crack-cocaine of hating Donald Trump. No wonder it didn’t work and the channel’s ratings are now in the toilet,” Kelly said on The Megyn Kelly Show podcast, according to the Daily Mail.

Kelly suggested to her audience that Licht’s failure to thrive was due to the environment and lack of quality leadership at the network.

“Licht inspired, as far as I can tell, no one,” she said. “He came in with a lot of swagger on the heels of a beloved leader being quickly ousted. Yes, Jeff Zucker was beloved, biased and responsible for ruining the network, but he was beloved.”
