Montreal Gazette's Christopher Curtis nominated for CAJ award

Montreal Gazette reporter Christopher Curtis has been nominated for a Canadian Association of Journalists (CAJ) award in the APTN/CAJ Reconciliation Award category.

Curtis was nominated for a compelling feature story about Air Inuit pilot Melissa Haney entitled: “Northbound on a flight that’s a lifeline for the Inuit”

“For the 12,000 Inuit who populate Quebec’s north, the Montreal-based airline is an essential service connecting 14 Inuit villages over a landmass twice the size of England,” Curtis wrote. “It’s also a lifeline to Montreal itself, where a community of roughly 600 to 1,000 Inuit live at any given moment.”

The CAJ awards committee will be announcing the award winners on May 30.
