Montreal Pride Parade canceled hours before event due to lack of volunteers

Pride Montreal says the iconic parade that concludes the celebration of the festival's LGBTQ+ community has been canceled due to a lack of staff.

Festival executive his director Simon Gamache said the event scheduled for today was canceled due to "security reasons."

Pride Montreal issued a statement on his Twitter saying it had made the decision with the assistance of the city police as there were not enough volunteers to ensure safety along the parade route.
