Motorist dead after losing control of car in the Beauce

The Sûreté du Québec suspects excessive speed might have played a role in the crash.

Sûreté du Québec.

A motorist in his 30s died Thursday night after apparently losing control of his car in the town of Saint-Victor in the Beauce region, the Sûreté du Québec said.

For reasons that have yet to be established, the driver lost control the car as it descended a hill. The vehicle then skidded off the road and repeatedly rolled over before coming to a stop, the impact tearing its chassis in half.

The SQ said the posted speed limit is 70 km/h and the incident might have been caused by excessive speed.
