Madrid — NATO will launch a € 1 billion ($ 1.04 billion) innovation fund to promote technology research useful to the military, Secretary-General Jens Stortemberg said Thursday.
Leaders gathered at the NATO summit in Madrid agreed to establish a fund, Stoltenberg told reporters on the third and final days of the meeting.

According to the Alliance, the Multinational Fund aims to bring together governments, the private sector, and academia to strengthen NATO's technological advantage.
