The Washington Nationals has exercised a 2023 contract option for skipper Dave Martinez and baseball manager Mike Rizzo, president and general manager.
Martinez, 57, celebrated his fifth season in Washington and set a record of 295-330 for the team on Saturday.
Reso, 61, is in his 14th season as Head of Baseball at the Nationals.
Together, they helped the franchise win its first World Series Championship in 2019.
"Mike and Davy have led the Washington Nationals for several years. Nationals Managing Principal Owner Mark D. Lerner said in a news release.
" Mike Has taken us to different stages of the organization. I believe his work at this stage will ultimately pay off. Davie has been a great job at the clubhouse and dugout for five seasons. We are proud of his continued determination and unwavering support of his players. We were fortunate to have Mike and Davie lead us. "
The Nationals played a Saturday match against the Miami Marlins, who visited the last place in the eastern part of the National League, with a record of 29-50.
