'No longer considered suspicious': no charges after body of woman found in Buckingham

A Gatineau police investigation has concluded that the death of a woman in her 70s Saturday was not suspicious.

A 911 call reporting that a woman was unconscious summoned first responders to a home on Pigeon Street in the Buckingham sector at about 7:30 a.m.

When officers arrived, it was obvious to them that the woman could not be resuscitated, police said.

A man was arrested Saturday but police said Sunday that they determined after speaking to witnesses and examining the scene that no criminal act had been committed.

“The death is no longer considered suspicious,” police said. “No charges will be laid.”
