Police said they were looking for a man suspected of being sexually assaulted in central Hamilton on Monday morning and sent the woman to the hospital with a life-threatening injury.
Detectives say a 46-year-old woman was rushed to a trauma center after an outbreak at Barton Street East between Emerald Street North and Oak Avenue around 3 am.

"Witnesses fell in the area of East 353 Burton Street after a woman was found to have been seriously beaten in a nearby alley flagged by Hamilton police," police said in a statement. Stated.
"Investigators make decisions based on evidence that this assault contains sexual elements and treat it as an investigation into sexual assault."

The murder investigator investigated the case and described the suspect as a young man in a black and white track suit.
The suspect is believed to have fled the area by walking west on Burton.
On Monday, police officers visited nearby residents for hints and security camera footage.
