Ontario's police watchdog is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 28-year-old man they say died in an Ottawa car crash after being chased by police.
Officers from the Ontario Police conducted a radar crackdown in the area of Highway 416 just before 11:00 p.m., according to the Special Investigations Division. on tuesday.
According to the SIU, officers saw the speeding driver and chased the vehicle.
He stopped chasing the car, but found it after the driver hit a telephone pole.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
SIU is urging anyone with information to contact them.
