Port Moody celebrates Golden Spike Days Festival

One of British Columbia's oldest and longest-runningfamily events. It will be held on the long weekend of Canada Day.

The Golden Spike Days Festivalwill be held at Rocky Point Park in Port Moody.

Festivals usually have 40,000 people. Participants can enjoy live entertainment, special events and activities for all ages.

This event commemorates the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway.

"It's really, really working. It's awesome," said Ken Neilson, one of the organizers.

"Yesterday was the biggest day I've ever had. Great support from the community."

One of the great attractions of the festival is a live music concert featuring the Toronto-based band Platinum Blonde on Saturday.
