That was just one of the things the unidentified woman ranted about in a memo to staff at the Overland Park, Kan., location,” KCTV reported.
Sick and tired of people calling in sick or asking for a day off, she suggested employees look for another job because management is ”no longer tolerating ANY excuse for calling off” – and will make them prove it.
"We are no longer tolerating ANY excuse for calling off. If you’re sick, you need to come prove it to us."

“If you’re sick, you need to come prove it to us,” so began her list of demands.
“If your dog died, you need to bring him in and prove it to us,” she continued. “If it’s a ‘family emergency’ and you can’t say, too bad. Go work somewhere else.”
She also suggested that those who only want morning shifts to “go work at a bank,” and threatened they would be out of a job if they call in sick “more than ONCE in the next 30 days.”
She went on to say how she had never once “called off,” even when she was on her way to work and totaled her car, she still managed to get to work on time.
“There are no more excuses,” she wrote. “Us, collectively as a management team have had enough. If you don’t want to work here, don’t. It’s as simple as that. If you’re here and want to work, then work.”

She continued: “No more complaining about not being cut or not being able to leave early. You’re in the restaurant business.”
This comes at a dismal time for the restaurant and hospitality sectors, which are having trouble filling vacancies and struggling to return to pre-pandemic levels.
She signed off by thanking most employees for their hard work.
“I hope you choose to continue to work here and I think we (management) make it as easy as we can on ya’ll,” she concluded. “Thank you for your time and thank you to those who come in every day on time and work hard. I wish there were more like you.”
Darden, Olive Garden’s parent company, told the outlet the manager has since been fired for the message to employees.
“We strive to provide a caring and respectful work environment for our team members,” the restaurant representative said in a statement.
“This message is not aligned with our company’s values. We can confirm we have parted ways with this manager.”
