Brandon Lowe had three runs for the second night in a row, and the Tampa Bay Rays walked 13 on Friday in a 5-3 victory over the Detroit Tigers.

Roman Quinn and Taylor Walls each scored two runs for his two-game winning Rays in the first of a four-game series. Tampa Bay he trailed 3-2 and in the eighth inning he scored three.

Rays starter Corey Kluber said he had three runs, seven hits, five strikeouts and no bases in six innings. Jalen Beeks (2-1) scored a win in his relief innings, and Colin Poche escaped his nine jams to record his seventh save.

Riley Green hit his two-run homer, and the Tigers are on a three-game losing streak and his sixth.

Detroit starter Brian Garcia had six walks, though he allowed only one hit in four innings. he struck out.

Tampa Bay led off Joe Jimenez (3-1) in his eighth off, walking Quinn and Walls to start the inning. Lowe then hit the right field line with a double, knocking in both runners. Lowe scored on his Isaac Paredes single.

The Tigers scored a run first. Green led on a single and was forced out by Victor Reyes. Javier Baez's bloop single moved Reyes to second and a flyout moved runners to third. Reyes scored on Jaymer Candelario's single opposite.

Tampa He Bay had four baserunners in the second inning but failed to score. Randy Arrozarena hit an infield hit but was caught stealing. Garcia then walked the loaded bases and retired Lowe with a foul pop.

Detroit extended his lead to 3-0 with two outs. Akhil Badoo hit a two-out single before Green ripped an opposing field shot over the left field wall.

Garcia's replacement, Will Best, also struggled to find the plate, but did not escape unscathed. In the fifth inning, he walked the first batter at Walls and hit Choi with one down. David Peralta hit his double with two outs to score for Walls. The vest was removed after he walked Luke Reilly. Jason Foley came in and Arozalena grounded out with the bases loaded.

Quinn and Walls hit back-to-back singles off Foley, with him one out in the sixth. Lowe hit an RBI single off of Andrew Chafin, but the reliever retired the next batter, leaving the score at 3–2.
