The Cincinnati Reds placed third baseman Mike Moustakas on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday, a day after ending the game with a left calf injury.
Moustakas was cast on Tuesday. He was injured while on base in the fourth inning against the New York Mets on Monday.
"It just got me," Moustakas said after his 5-1 loss on Monday. "I felt a little cramped in the early stages, but I didn't think anything of it. Then when I went round first base, it grabbed me and I really couldn't run."
} Moustakas, 33, has six homers and 21 RBIs in 73 games this season and is only batting .200. Overall, he hit 202 home runs and 631 RBIs in 1,309 games over his 12 seasons with the Kansas City Royals (2011-18), Milwaukee Brewers (2018-19), and Reds (2020-22). 247 average.
Second baseman Jonathan India withdrew from Monday's game with a hamstring injury, but appears to have escaped serious injury. He was in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mets.
Cincinnati also brought back Triple-A Louisville utility man Alejo Lopez. 246 batting average and 1 RBI in his 30 games with the Reds this season.
