Memphis Grizzlies tycoon Jaren Jackson Jr. has had surgery on his right leg and will be absent for four to six months, ESPN reported Thursday.

Elite defender Jackson suffered a stress fracture in his leg that was repaired on Wednesday.

Jackson, who turns 23 in September, averaged 16.3 points and a career high of 5.8 rebounds in 78 games last season. He also led the NBA with a career best 177 block shot and set his career high at 73 steals.

Jackson has been a selection of All-Defensive First Teams this past season.

In the four seasons of the NBA, Jackson averaged 15.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.8 block shots in 204 games (starting 195 games).

Jackson was the fourth overall pick in the 2018 draft from Michigan.
