According to reports on Thursday, veteran center JaVale McGee returned to the Dallas Mavericks and agreed to a three-year $ 20.1 million contract, making the third year a player's choice.

The 7-foot player was a successful Phoenix Suns backup center and stopgap starter in the 2021-22 season, averaging 9.2 points and 6.7 rebounds in 74 games.

McGee, 34, expects ESPN to become a starting center and is excited about how to fit the court with Mavericks All-NBA guard Luka Doncic.

"Well, if they're rolling a lot, they can dominate on another side," I saw some opportunities where I thought. "McGee told ESPN.

In McGee's 821 career game, 34 games were played against Mavericks during the 2015-16 campaign. Playing under Rick Carlisle, McGee recorded the match within 11 minutes, scoring 5.1 points and 3.9 rebounds.

Returning to Dallas, he reconnects McGee with two ex-colleagues who won one of the three championship rings from his days at the Los Angeles Lakers.

Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd was the Lakers assistant coach, and Dallas assistant coach Jared Dudley was a reserve for the 2020 title-winning Lakers team.

In his 15th season in the NBA, Maggie averaged 1.5 blocks and shot 57.6% off the field.
