A small grass fire broke out on Highway 97 in Kelowna Sunday afternoon.
Just before 2:30 PM. Kelowna Fire Dispatch received multiple 911 calls today reporting black smoke behind a 3500 block commercial property on Highway 97 North.
"First arriving officers report a Rank 2 grassland/bush fire involving approximately 50 [ft] by 50 [ft] structures," he said. , Kelowna Fire Department platoon leader Scott Clark said in a release.
The fire was quickly extinguished by the crew, but the wooden fence suffered some damage. No one was injured in this fire.

Fire Suspicious considered, and RCMP is aware of it.
The Kelowna Fire Department initially responded with a command force that included four engines, a rescue team, and 19 firefighters.
"The Kelowna Fire Department is reminding the public that we are currently aware of the high fire risk in our area and that all smoking equipment is disposed of properly and safely. I want to let you," Clark said.
