Social media model arrested for murder in Hawaii

{ HILO, Hawaii (AP) — On Wednesday, law enforcement in Hawaii arrested social media model Courtney Clenny on suspicion of second-degree murder with a deadly weapon.

Hawaii County Police said in a statement that he assisted the U.S. Marshals in arresting a 26-year-old boy at Laupahoehoe on Big He Island. Officers used an arrest warrant issued by Miami-Dade County, Florida.

She is being held at her East Hawaii Detention Center pending her first appearance in Hilo District Court on Thursday, according to police.

Her Miami attorney, Frank Prieto, told the Miami Herald that she was in Hawaii in rehab for substance abuse and post-traumatic stress disorder.

"I am completely shocked because we were cooperating with the investigation and offered to voluntarily extradite her if she was charged," Prieto said. "I look forward to clearing her name in court."
