New York — Former Boyfriend in New York City Turns a Little Girl into a Stroller The woman who was pushed in and shot dead was ordered to be imprisoned without release, and prosecutors described the killing as a "planned execution."
22-year-old Isaac Argro appeared to the Manhattan Criminal Court on Saturday night on charges of his second murder and second weapon possession.
Prosecutor Brittany des Cesare tells Judge Eric Schumacher that on the night of the murder, Argro wears black clothes and a ski mask and estranged his girlfriend Asia Johnson. He said he walked back and forth waiting to shoot.
"This incident can only be described as a planned practice," said De Cesare, according to the New York Post. "The defendant persuaded the victim to meet after work, pretending to give her deceased item to her three-month-old daughter."
Argro's defense lawyer Refrained from commenting.
Johnson, 20, was shot around 8:30 pm. Wednesday, near the intersection of Lexington Avenue and 95th Avenue on the upper east side of Manhattan. She was sentenced to death in the hospital.
She wasn't injured in her stroller for three months, but was taken to the hospital for her medical evaluation, police said.
Authorities claim that Argro called Johnson's family after the shooting, asked where his child was, and threatened another unidentified person to be "next."
Johnson's family states that Argro routinely abused her child's mother, beating her during her pregnancy and threatening to kill her.
Argro will return to court on Thursday.
