According to Montreal police, “a group of suspects” attacked the victim with a “sharp object,” wounding him in the upper body.
The teenager was transported to hospital, but police were waiting for a report on his condition.
The suspects reportedly fled before police arrived and no arrests were made immediately.
It was the third stabbing to occur Friday in Montreal, although there is no indication these events are linked. In the early morning, a man died in the Mile-End sector after being stabbed by a 28-year-old suspect, who was arrested by Montreal police in the middle of the day. Then, earlier in the night from Thursday to Friday, a 23-year-old man was also stabbed in Plateau-Mont-Royal. Authorities later confirmed his life was out of danger.
