Toronto — Today's Pride Parade in downtown Toronto is expected to march tens of thousands of people, returning a direct celebration to the annual LGBTQ celebration.
The first face-to-face Toronto Pride Parade since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic will travel south on Young Street before landing on Yonge-Dundas Square.
The festival's climax event will start at 2pm, but the Pride Calendar is packed with events such as concerts along Church Street and weird skateboard jams at Nathan Phillips Square. is.
Festival organizers say that if possible, attendees can help reduce long lines in the staging area by going without bags.
Prior to the weekend, the organizers said the festival was working with a private security company to check in the designated space.
They say additional action is needed given the reported increase in anti-LGBTQ cases this month.
