Detroit drew within 3-2 at the bottom of the inning. Haas reached Pilkington's two-based error and finished third in Harold Castro's single. Haas scored with a scoop one-out single, and Castro got home with Victor Reyes' fielder's choice grounder.
The Tigers advanced in 6th place. Spencer Torkelson led the single and finished third in Reyes' two-out single. Green knocked in Torkelson with an infield hit.
Haas left Bryan Shaw for his sixth home run of the season, limiting Detroit's advantage to 5-3.
