TOKYO — Japanese prosecutors have arrested Haruyuki Takahashi, a former member of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Committee, on bribery charges, The Asahi Shimbun reported Wednesday.

Takahashi was arrested on suspicion of accepting a bribe of hundreds of billions of yen from suit retailer and Tokyo 2020 sponsor Aoki Holdings, the Asahi Shimbun reported.

Prosecutors also arrested Hironori Aoki, former chairman of Aoki Holdings, and two of his others in connection with a bribery case, Kyodo News said Wednesday. The names of his two other people arrested are not listed in the report.

Investigators raided Takahashi's home and offices of advertising giant Dentsu Group in late July. Mr. Takahashi is a former executive of Dentsu Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Dentsu Group. (Reporting by Sakura Murakami, Editing by Clarence Fernandez and Raju Gopalakrishnan)
