A child has died after being hit by a car in a parking lot at the west end, Toronto police said.
Officers responded at approximately 7:30 pm. On Thursday, he received a report that a toddler or young child was hit by a car in a parking lot in the area of Lakeshore Boulevard and Albert Avenue.
Police later tweeted that the child was taken to hospital and pronounced dead.
The post did not specify the child's age or gender.
Police said the driver remained at the scene and transportation is investigating.
