Two pedestrians killed in separate hit-and-runs in the GTA this morning

Two pedestrians were struck and killed within minutes of each other Tuesday morning in separate hit-and-runs in the GTA.

In North York, a woman in her 30s was struck and killed by a tractor trailer driver in a hit-and-run just after 7 a.m. at Alness Street and Supertest Road, near Dufferin Avenue and Steeles Avenue West.

“There are different paramedics on scene, we’ve got Toronto and York (Region),” Toronto police Const. Caroline De Kloet told the Star.

“Our information is that the vehicle did not remain on scene.”

The nearby roads are closed as police continue their investigation.

In Brampton, a man was struck and killed by a motorist at Rutherford and Orenda roads

The driver of the vehicle did not remain on scene, police say.

Police have closed off Rutherford, between Orenda and Clark Boulevard for their investigation.
