Washington — Reuters reports that US consumers have more than tripled complaints against US airlines in April compared to pre-pandemic levels.
The US Department of Transportation will announce Thursday that it received 5,079 complaints about airline services in April. This is more than 320% more than the 1,205 complaints received in April 2019 before the pandemic. According to the
report, the on-time arrival rate for major airlines in April 2022 was 76%, down from 77.2% in March to 79.8% in April 2019.
The airline operated 566,893 flights in April, accounting for about 87% of the flights that flew in the same month of 2019. (Report by David Shepardson, edited by Mark Porter)
