KYIV — Ukrainian troops have repelled Russia's attack on the southern suburbs of Lysychans'k, the last fully Ukrainian city in the Luhansk region, the regional governor said Friday.
Serhiy Gaidai wrote in the Telegram messaging app that Russia dominated the village of Mykolaivka near the main highway to Lysychans'k.
The fighting is ongoing, he added. In Sieviero Donetsk, a twin city on the battlefield where Russia has slowly progressed over the course of several weeks. (Report by Max Hunder, edited by Clarence Fernandez)
