VANCOUVER — Canadian Ministry of Environment warns of heavy thunderstorms Issued. In some parts of southern British Colombia, strong winds, heavy hail and heavy rain can occur.

According to the Meteorological Agency, warnings include Boundary, Fraser Canyon, Liloe, Nikola to the north, and Kerouna, Vernon, Pentikton, Shswapp, and South Thompson to the Okanagan Valley.

The BC River Forecast Center has issued a high river flow recommendation that includes the southern inland and southeastern parts of the state, the Similkameen River and Mission Creek in Okanagan, the border, and Kootenay and its tributaries in the east and west.

On Sundays and Mondays, heavy and thunderstorms can occur in the South Interiors and Kutenay, with rivers expected to rise in the areas with the heaviest rains. According to the

center, high flows can occur in small and medium-sized basins throughout the region on Mondays and Tuesdays due to uncertainties about the exact location and intensity of rainfall.

High river flow recommendations mean that river water levels are rising or expected to rise rapidly, but no major floods are expected.
