USFL roundup: Bandits rally for 27-26 win over Gamblers

Tyler Rausa kicked a 46-yard field goal with 13 seconds remaining to give a Tampa Bay Bandits a come-from-behind 27-26 victory over the Houston Gamblers on Saturday in Birmingham, Ala.

Bandits quarterback Jordan Ta’amu threw for 255 yards and a touchdown against an interception and the Bandits rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns.

The Gamblers led 26-17 entering the fourth quarter.

Quarterback Clayton Thorson threw for 240 yards and two touchdowns with one interception for the Gamblers. Running back Mark Thompson rushed for 147 yards and a touchdown.

Stallions 22, Breakers 13

J’Mar Smith hit Victor Bolden Jr. for a 19-yard scoring strike and the go-ahead score in the fourth quarter to rally Birmingham past New Orleans.

The Stallions, who improved to 3-0, trailed the Breakers 13-10 entering the fourth quarter.

After the touchdown gave the Stallions a 17-13 lead with 8:03 remaining, they strip-sacked Breakers quarterback Kyle Sloter in the end zone for a safety. They would add a field goal with 1:19 remaining.

Smith passed for 197 yards and two touchdowns against one interception and led the team in rushing with 59 yards.

Sloter passed for 240 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. The Breakers lost for the first time in three games.
