WARMINGTON: Rider who shot off fireworks on TTC bus may soon be one feeling the heat

'Fortunately, there were no serious injuries and there’s plenty of video available to assist investigators,' said the TTC.

This illegal pyrotechnic show has resulted in more than a fireworks candle exploding.

Heads are too.

And, now, whoever it was who shot off a fireworks cannister in a busy TTC bus in Scarborough has the bright lights being shined on them.

Soon they may be feeling the heat, too.

Most of the focus is on one viral video posted by 6ixBuzzTV showing a disturbing scene of someone blasting the projectiles toward passengers but the TTC says this was not an isolated incident.

“We’re aware of a couple of recent incidents of fireworks being set off on TTC buses in Scarborough,” TTC media relations said in a tweet. “They are being looked into and those responsible will be held accountable.”

Needless to say, in the latest shooting on the TTC the weapon of choice was fireworks.

“Fortunately, there were no serious injuries and there’s plenty of video available to assist investigators,” said the TTC.

The video is shocking and shows a young person clearly lighting the fuse, aiming it toward the back of a bus and firing it in the direction of people who frantically duck for cover.

Was this tomfoolery or was there a specific person targeted?

The video shows the appearance of one friend filming another trying to light the wick and then aim it toward the rear section of the bus. When it went off, you can see the dangerous bright orange flash and hear a loud bang.

Then you can see a cloud of smoke. But you could also hear people screaming in fear as they tried to avoid being hit.

A man can be heard saying “you f***ing idiot.”

It may be more than being simply an idiot when the smoke clears. This may be a criminal act. Toronto Police are aware of the shocking video and are ready to engage in the probe as well.

It appears to show the person responsible getting off the bus. At this point it is unclear when and where this exactly happened.

Who is this person who set off fireworks on a TTC bus? The TTC is investigating

A TTC source tells the Toronto Sun there were calls in to “transit control” last week saying “kids were shooting off fireworks on the 116 Morningside bus two days in a row at 3:30 p.m. off the Guildwood Parkway and Kingston Road.”

It has not yet been determined if this video is related to those calls, but in the original calls last week the insider said a “random passenger was being targeted in both instances.”

There is nothing funny about doing such a thing. There has been so much violence on the TTC in recent months that every incident is stressful for riders.

And now the TTC is fired up to catch whoever is behind this.
