Toronto police say one woman is dead after a double stabbing at High Park subway station Thursday afternoon, while another woman is now in stable condition in hospital.
A man has been arrested, police said at a news conference outside the station in the city's west end.
Police say they received a call around 2 p.m. reporting that a man on a train was armed with a knife and being "aggressive."
The stabbing happened a short time later. Police say they can't specify where the women were stabbed.
Police say they are continuing to investigate and that both women are in their 20s or 30s.
The TTC said there's no subway service between Keele and Jane with shuttle buses running instead. Buses aren't stopping at High Park and are being redirected to Keele.
