“She was seriously injured in her upper body and was conscious,” said Véronique Dubuc, media relations officer for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

“According to the first information collected, the lady was the victim of an armed attack with a stabbing weapon inside an apartment,” Dubuc said.

A security perimeter was erected on Camille St. near Ouellette Ave., where the incident took place. A search is underway to locate the suspect.

A firearm was found by the police a few steps from where the stabbing took place. A suspect was apprehended by the SPVM, but there is no connection between the two events.
