Stockholm — A woman was stabbed to death on Gotland, Sweden, police said Wednesday at a political festival just two months before the national elections.
Police said a man in his thirties was detained on suspicion of murder after a puncture wound near the place where Center Party leader Annie Löf was giving a speech.
Police also declined to comment on the suspect's motives or political affiliations, stating that there were no signs of further threat to the festival.
Daily Aftonbladet quoted sources as saying that the man had something to do with the neo-Nazi organization.
The Weekly Political Festival is an annual event that attracts thousands of people as politicians give speeches and interact with voters and tourists.
