‘WOULD’VE BEEN EATEN ALIVE’: Amish brothers who raped sister, 13, avoid jail

Two Amish brothers who repeatedly raped their 13-year-old sister and got her pregnant have avoided jail over fears they “would’ve been eaten alive.”

Aaron Schwartz, 22, and Petie Schwartz, 18, of Seymour, Missouri, pleaded guilty to two counts of third-degree child molestation with a child under the age of 14.

Two of their underage brothers also had sexual relations with the girl when she was 12 and 13.

According to the Webster County Citizen, the sicko older siblings were given a 10-year sentence but as a result of a plea deal over fears for their jailhouse safety, that was dropped to five years’ probation.

In addition, the pair must complete the Missouri Sex Offender Treatment Program and perform 100 hours of community service.

The Schwartz brothers must also each write a letter of apology to the Amish community.

Webster County Prosecuting Attorney Ben Berkstresser noted that the sentence appears lax given the rape and incest charges.

“It needs to be noted that in this case, there were four brothers, two of them minors, while the other two legally are adults,” Berkstresser said. “All of them had sexual relations with their sister. There is no question this occurred.”

He added: “In the end, this wasn’t a case of a parent and child, where a parent in a position of authority sexually abused or exploited their child. This was a situation where four siblings engaged in acts with their sister. I offered a 15-year prison sentence based on this … it was a different relationship.

“These two young men would’ve been eaten alive in the state prison system.”

The victim — now 13 — had a baby two weeks ago and one of the two brothers is the father.

Berkstresser noted that in the past, he has been harsh on Amish sex criminals but said the twisted brothers are “very immature.”

“But within the Amish community that primarily lives in the Seymour area, (the Amish) don’t see the authority we have to do anything to them. This was a tough case to prosecute,” he said.
