New York Yankees All-Star outfielder Giancarlo Stanton will have a two-game rehab stint at Double-A Somerset on Saturday and Sunday.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters on Friday that Stanton will face Luis Severino in batting practice on Tuesday if the weekend in the minors goes as planned.

Stanton was last placed on the disabled list with left Achilles tendonitis after he played on July 23. He played against the visiting Toronto his Blue Jays before Friday night's game in New York.

Boone added that the Yankees weren't worried about returning Stanton to the outfield. Boone told reporters. “But first of all, I want him in the DH spot. We'll make it part at some point, but not right away."

Severino has been out since July 14 with low latitude strain. He was moved to the 60-day injured list and will not be eligible to return until mid-September. The right-handed starter told reporters he was ready to face a real hit.
