was final.
“I want to thank those who tried to convince me, but I am stubborn, and my decisions
are well thought out. There is no turning back. This was what I wanted this year: to retire
at the World Cup,” he said.
The Costa Rican legend played 146 matches, 55 in qualifying games, 23 in the Gold
Cup, three in the Copa América, and nine in the World Cup. Bryan Ruiz scored 20 goals
and played 10,000 minutes wearing La Sele’s shirt.
His final game will be held at the Alejandro Morera Soto Stadium, where Liga Deportiva
Alajuelense and FC Twente will be on December 17th. In this game, the Costa Rican
